Caroline R. De Marco

Caroline De Marco has been in the pharmaceutical industry for 24 years at GlaxoSmithKline and is currently Vice President, Regional Accounts responsible for all Regional Payer customers.  These customers include Commercial Managed Care, Managed Medicaid, Medicare Part D and Fee-For-Service (FSS) state contracting for the US.  Her responsibilities also include ensuring access for patients for vaccines, oncology and specialty products.

Previously, Caroline was Vice President, National GPO, Kaiser & Federal Health Systems and Regional Vice President for the Northeast region in the Institutional Sales Segment (ISS), in the Managed Markets division of US Pharm.  Prior to this, Caroline was Senior Customer Marketing Manager in Marketing and Planning in the Managed Markets Division at GSK where her responsibilities included new product launches with payors and managing the strategic planning process for the division.  Also in this role she developed partnerships with non-traditional customers and health educators like BeWell (www.Bewell.com) and Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine to help educate patients and consumers about GSK’s commitment to patient care and specific disease states including diabetes, asthma, depression, migraine, and cardiovascular disease.

In 2001, Caroline was selected by GSK and the Olympic Committee to be a torchbearer in the torch relay in Philadelphia for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.  Caroline was also named a “Rising Star” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) for her contributions to GSK and the Pharmaceutical Industry in 2004.  Caroline was selected by GSK to be their featured employee on NBC 10’s Moms on the Move segment that aired in July 2005.

Caroline is a member of national service organizations The LINKs, Incorporated, Penn Towne Chapter; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter & Jack & Jill of America, The Philadelphia Chapter.  She graduated with honors from Howard University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
