George W. Connell, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder of The Haverford Trust Company, is a member of the Investment Selection Committee and has over 40 years experience in the investment industry. Prior to founding The Haverford Trust Company, he was with J.P. Morgan & Company and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Connell is a member of the Board of Directors of both the Caroline Buck Foundation and the Morris Arboretum. He was a Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, serving from 1974 - 2001. Mr. Connell is a former President and founding member of the First Monday Business Club of Philadelphia, a member of the Philadelphia Securities Association, the Planned Giving Council at Rosemont College, and the Athletic Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Wharton School (Finance) of the University of Pennsylvania.
