The mission of AIM~Academy In Manayunk is to:

Provide extraordinary educational opportunities to children with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, utilizing research-based intervention strategies and an arts-based learning environment that is college preparatory in scope and sequence.

Develop a center for educational excellence and professional development to disseminate best practices to educators by providing access to the latest research-based curriculum, technology, and training.

The goals of AIM~Academy In Manayunk are to:

  • provide a rigorous quality education for a lifetime of learning
  • provide evidenced-based intensive remediation and teaching of strategies
  • employ all the art forms as central to the educative process and treat the arts as scholarly pursuits
  • bring multi-sensory and experiential learning into each classroom
  • provide enrichment, cultural, and sports activities to enhance learning experiences
  • engage in research to facilitate excellent instruction
  • incorporate the latest technology into all programs
  • encourage the child's strengths to flourish while working on areas of needs
  • challenge a child's mind while caring for the student's emotional well being
  • encourage staff members to remain engaged with current research surrounding brain development while reflecting on it's impact on learning and implications for teaching
  • continue to grow and better our research to practice curriculum by challenging our highly skilled staff to remain on the cutting-edge of the field of education through training opportunities on new research-based programs
  • train and mentor undergraduate and graduate level education majors in an effort to help shape the next generation of special education teachers
  • support and educate parents in regard to school and home issues
  • replicate The Lab School of Washington model
  • disseminate best practices through workshops, lectures and seminars to school partners and universities
  • provide tutoring services in reading, math, writing and homework support
  • provide a summer program to support continued reading, writing and math development while enhancing and enriching student's background knowledge
