It’s a new school year and, for the students of AIM Academy, it will include outdoor time on our newly-installed turf soccer and lacrosse field. AIM middle school and upper school students attending the AIM pre-season soccer clinic were the first to practice on the soccer field on August 30. AIM athletes were excited about the electronic scoreboard and bleachers for spectators. It was an impressive sight to see!
In addition to the new athletic field, a brightly colored playground has been newly installed complete with basketball hoops, swings, climbing equipment and creative play areas for our younger students. This is an exciting culmination of a year of planning between the architect and some of our lower school students. The students conducted a survey of area playgrounds to identify those features they most wanted in their AIM playground. They then surveyed lower school students and built graphs to see which features were most popular. The outcome is spectacular.
At AIM, students experience full immersion into a world of creativity, rigorous academics, arts, and athletics. The field, playground, and other capital improvements— made to keep pace with the growing enrollment—were funded by private contributors as well as a $1.5 million grant from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
