Ira M. Lubert
Ira M. Lubert is the Founder and Chairman of Independence Capital Partners, a holding company with more than $6.5 billion currently under management, including Lubert-Adler Management, a group of real estate opportunity funds, LLR Equity Partners, a group of mid-Atlantic and middle market venture funds, LEM Real Estate Mezzanine Fund, LP, Quaker BioVentures, a life sciences venture capital fund and the Chrysalis Management Group, a bankruptcy turnaround fund. Mr. Lubert is a 1973 graduate and strong supporter of Penn State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, majoring in Hotel Management. He is a past member of the Board of trustees of Penn State and has committed significant funds to the University’s Athletic, Educational and Capital Campaigns. Mr. Lubert has been active in a variety of community leadership positions. He chaired the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s fifth Annual Dinner of Champions, honoring Penn State’s legendary football coach, Joe Paterno. He was vice-chairman of the City Year Greater Philadelphia Idealist of the Year Award. Mr. Lubert has served on the boards of the Franklin Institute, the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), the Philadelphia Red Cross, the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the United way, the Prince Music Theater, The Wistar Institute, and the Drexel College of Medicine. He is also a member of the Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society. |
