Susan Shapiro, Ph.D. earned a M.S. degree in Counseling from Villanova University and a Ph.D. in Psychoeducational Process from Temple University.  She has counseled students with disabilities at Drexel University, Hahnemann School of Health Sciences and Humanities and Harcum College. In addition, she has taught courses in psychology, counseling, reading and study strategies at several colleges in the Philadelphia area.  As Director of the PLUS program for students with learning disabilities at Harcum College, she served as a learning specialist, facilitated the accommodation process and conducted faculty development seminars on teaching and understanding students with disabilities.    She is currently Learning Disabilities Coordinator at University of Pennsylvania and has a small private practice as a coach/learning specialist for high school students with disabilities and their parents. 

Susan is a board member of the Committee for Special Education, a parent group in Lower Merion School District and a volunteer “Buddy” for the Educational Law Center in Philadelphia.
