Summer Program 2006

The Academy in Manayunk & Arthur Ashe Summer program combines mornings of educational enrichment at the Academy in Manayunk with afternoons of tennis instruction and matchplay at the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center. The program, for intelligent children with learning disabilities entering grades 2 - 7, offers small-group reading instruction with emphasis on decoding, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary development. Reading, spelling, mathematics, oral language and art are taught using proven research-based methods and multi-sensory approaches such as the Wilson Reading System and the Academic Club Methodology™, developed at The Lab School of Washington®. Individual tutoring is also available for students in grades 1 - 12.
