New Tradition

The AIM Academy Class of 2020 spent last Friday planting a Santa Rosa Plum tree back by the playground. Each student and current 8th grade advisor poured one shovel of dirt each on our new tree. The festivities began by 8th grade student Sam Ozer placing our tree in its new hole, and culminated with a poem read by 8th grade advisor, and science teacher, Ms. Johnson. When reached for a comment about this new tradition Ms. Johnson was quoted as saying, "I am just really glad we were able to do this on Earth Day. When I saw it was forecasted to rain on Arbor Day I wanted to take advantage of the sunshine." Both students and staff alike are excited by the fact that they will some day be able to pick fresh plums from their tree, hopefully before graduating from AIM in 2020. Much thanks and appreciation go out to the OZER FAMILY and the Philadelphia Horticultural Society for donation of this year's tree.
