Therefore, they are at an advantage over their peers when it comes to essential 21st century skills for success. A study from London’s Cass Business School revealed that 35% of entrepreneurs in the United States are dyslexic. When students with language-based learning differences are given the right tools and strategies they are often able to turn their talents into successful businesses and careers. They learn how to use their “disability” to their advantage.


The Annual Giving Fund Manager works for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Annual Fund donors at all levels of giving and supports the Chief Advancement Officer and Directors of Advancement in their solicitation of major gifts, sponsorships and corporate gifts. The position manages all Annual Fund activities including the creation of print and electronic collateral materials and coordination of their design and production. In addition, the Annual Giving Fund Manager will work alongside the Assistant Director of Advancement Operations to oversee the creation and implementation of all donor giving benefits while working to oversee year-round strategies for donor stewardship.

The Annual Giving Fund Manager will work with a team responsible for raising $575,000 to support the annual fund and select special projects.

The successful candidate will be highly detail oriented and organized, cherish relationship building, thrive in an environment where fundraising is encouraged, appreciated and collaborative with leadership, be able to balance multiple priorities, and be focused on strategies that deliver contributed revenue.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with the Department of Advancement to annually update and individually responsible to implement the AIM Fund plan and timeline.

  • In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Advancement Operations, identify and assign AIM Fund prospects based on giving potential including their own portfolio of existing and prospective donors for face to face and/or direct solicitation.

  • Prepare and manage all AIM Fund broad based solicitations including but not limited to the ability to segment messaging based on target gift, constituency group and last gift.

  • Coordinate and manage AIM Fund major gift solicitations by CAO and Directors in order to support campaign goals including upgrading existing donors to major and/or planned gift donors (Moves Management).

  • Recruit a volunteer base to support constituents giving metrics and class gifts.

  • Support overall fundraising growth of the organization through increased giving participation, fundraising average and engagement. (ie. Increase current parent giving participation from 53% to 65%)

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of industry best practices and ability to uphold industry standards in an environment that embraces innovation.

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including acumen to
    convey information effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience; active listening skills; the ability to persuade others; and to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external constituencies.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, exercise good judgment, and work independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Strong computer skills and comfort level with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and preferred experience using databases, engagement platforms, customer relations management (CRM) software, research query software. 

  • Skills and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and problem solve to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Commitment to professionalism, inclusion, respect, and civility, and ability to build rapport with others.

  • Responsiveness and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

  • Strong sense of ethics and ability to manage sensitive information and maintain

  • Ability to manage events and work occasional nights and weekends as required.

  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, et cetera.

  • Working knowledge of fundraising, public relations, volunteer management and an appreciation for the nuance of fundraising with an independent school community. Knowledge of AIM, its vision, mission, achievements and infrastructure and/or the ability to quickly learn these important factors.

  • Veracross and SalesForce experience preferred.

  • Ability to onboard on a fast-paced team and to vocalize work environment needs.
