AIM Academy is proud to announce the opening of an additional Middle/Upper School Music teaching position for the fall of 2022. AIM Academy is searching for a professional educator to join our collaborative team. Here at AIM, an interdisciplinary curriculum challenges students to think critically, and students learn to identify connections between ideas and how one area of study can inform or influence another.

Music at AIM Academy involves teaching electives courses to students with a variety of musical interests: instrumental, choral, and music production.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Utilizes a wide repertoire of music from classical to pop to rock to traditional and more to engage students. 

  • Differentiates curriculum to meet the various needs and skill levels of students. 

  • Provides chances for students to join musical groups like bands and ensembles. 

  • Plans at least two musical performances (one for Middle and one for Upper) and rehearses with students during and after school as needed. 

  • Maintains a classroom environment that is built on mutual respect and collaboration where students feel supported and excited to showcase their talents.

  • Communicates clearly with families and faculty/staff. 

  • Cares for and maintains school-owned musical equipment and instruments. 

  • Cooperates with Head of School, Division Heads, Director of Athletics and Student Life, as well as other staff in preparing musical programs for various school events.



  • Proof of COVID vaccination and booster

  • Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s preferred 

  • PA or Private Academic Certification 

  • Strong vocal and instrumental skills

  • Proficiency in Music Technology - particularly GarageBand and Logic Pro X

  • Experience in working with students with learning differences 

  • Excellence in writing, editing, and communication skills 

  • Ability to positively and constructively relate to students 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Enthusiasm to collaborate with colleagues

  • Sense of Humor, patience and flexibility
