Speech-Language Pathologist

Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist - Long-Term Substitute 

Position begins mid-October 2023 - mid-February 2024

 

This temporary position begins in mid-October 2023 and continues through mid February 2024, two days per week, Mondays and Wednesdays.  Please note, school is closed from 12/18 through 1/1/24 for Winter Break.  Additional days closed are: 11/22, 11/23, 11/24, and 1/15. 

The role of speech-language pathologist entails working with students on an individual and classroom level, providing therapy and integrated services respectively.  The speech-language pathologist long-term substitute provides individual therapy, parent communication, and teacher collaboration.   

Essential Functions:

  • Direct group and individual treatment of assigned students, including planning relevant activities, carrying out sessions, and documenting intervention. 

  • Collaboration with teachers and other therapists for group planning or classroom carryover of strategies. 

  • Documentation of student billing and attendance for insurance and accounting purposes. 

  • Bi-weekly communication with parents via progress note format. 

  • Tri-annual/quarterly updates on goal progress in student report cards. 

  • Timely response to parent and staff questions received via email or phone regarding therapy services. 

  • Adherence to adopted policies set forth by AIM and the administration. 

  • Maintenance of continued certification from all relevant authorities, including the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).   

Qualifications: 

  • All proper licensure, certifications, and clearances to work as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania including: 

    • Pennsylvania State License; 

    • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. 

  • All proper licensure, certifications, and clearances to work for AIM Academy, including but not limited to: 

    • Child abuse clearance; 

    • Criminal Background check; 

    • Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check; 

    • School Personnel Health Record with current Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
