Overview
AIM Academy is seeking certified Wilson Reading System® (WRS) teachers to join our seasoned faculty for the 2025/2026 school year. AIM Academy is focused on tapping into the unique characteristics of children who learn differently in grades 1-12.
The ideal candidate will have experience in all levels of WRS, which is designed for students in Grades 2–12 and adults with word-level deficits using a multisensory approach. An ideal candidate for this position would also have experience working with children with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, as well as students with processing or attention issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and track student growth, analyze data, and adjust instruction as needed.
- Communicate student progress to supervisor, students and parents.
- Exhibit expertise in language instruction by demonstrating a deep understanding of language structure and mastery of multi-sensory, diagnostic instructional techniques.
- Implement the Wilson Reading System in groups with fidelity in an Upper School setting to increase reading development.
- Show understanding, appreciation, and compassion for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate effectively with families and supervisors by confidently communicating student progress.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and develop strong relationships with teachers, staff, and families.
- Actively seek professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
- Maintain consistent, accurate, and timely records and paperwork and adhere to all policies, regulations, and procedures set by AIM Academy.
- Perform additional duties within the scope of employment and certification as needed.
- Communicate any concerns with student conduct with a direct supervisor, parents and Dean of Students.
- Participate in committee, department, and staff meetings as well as school-sponsored events that would benefit from area of expertise.
- Be involved in the school community at large.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s preferred
- Level I Wilson Certification required
- PA or Private Academic Certification, Special Education preferred
- Excellence in writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to positively and constructively relate to students
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Adaptive learner and self-starter
- Strong technology skills
- Sense of Humor, Patience and Flexibility
- Experience with Structured Literacy and Interventions
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and effective instructional practices for older students
- Passion for Literacy
Not required, but preferred qualifications:
- Level II Wilson Certification, preferred
