AIM Announces Board Leadership Transition
Conshohocken, PA (October 10) - AIM, a nationally recognized education organization including AIM Academy, the Philadelphia region’s largest school for children with language-based learning differences, announced today a significant transition in its Board of Trustees. After 15 years of exemplary service as Chair, Matt Naylor is stepping down and assuming the role of Board Chair Emeritus. Succeeding him is Stan Silverman, a distinguished business leader, current AIM trustee, and current AIM grandparent.
Matt Naylor’s leadership has been instrumental in AIM’s growth since its founding in 2006, from its early days in Manayunk to its current state-of-the-art campus in Conshohocken. Under his guidance, AIM has expanded from serving 115 students to over 400, and the AIM Institute for Learning & Research now provides literacy training to over 40,000 educators nationwide through its AIM Pathways online platform. This unprecedented and remarkable growth is a testament to AIM's commitment to making a difference in the lives of students and educators.
AIM CEO Al Chiaradonna shared, “We are so grateful for Matt’s dedication, insight, and passion for AIM’s mission and the significant impact his leadership and stewardship have made over the last fifteen years. We look forward to honoring him as the AIM Institute for Learning & Research Leadership Award recipient at our AIM for the Stars Gala in April. We are excited to continue our work under the leadership of Stan Silverman”
Stan Silverman, the newly appointed Chair, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to AIM’s mission as a trustee and AIM Academy grandparent. A former CEO of PQ Corporation and a recognized leadership expert and longtime columnist for the Philadelphia Business Journal, Stan has served on numerous boards, including St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and Drexel University, where he is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees.
“I am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal time for AIM,” Stan said. “I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact AIM has on students and their families, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Matt has laid.”
“Stan’s belief in the vision and mission of AIM will continue the success begun under Matt Naylor’s leadership,” said AIM Co-Founders Pat Roberts and Nancy Blair. “As we look to the future, we know that, with Stan’s leadership and the commitment of our entire board of trustees, AIM is well-positioned to continue innovating and making a profound difference in the lives of students and educators.”
Stan’s leadership will be critical as AIM looks to the future, expanding its reach and building bridges with corporations and the community as part of AIM’s new Global Innovation Hub opening in November. This exciting initiative will further AIM's mission to innovate and make a profound difference in the lives of students and educators.
The chair transition between Matt Naylor and Stan Silverman was approved at AIM’s September board meeting, during which AIM also welcomed Erin Coombs and Michael Stern as new trustees.
