Athletic Honors

As the fall sports season winds down, AIM athletes are drawing accolades on the field, the golf course and the river.

Over the past week alone three AIM students were named to the Tri County Independent League's All-Star team for soccer, an AIM junior received her Philadelphia Junior PGA Player of the Year award, an AIM junior won a New Jersey golf tournament and an AIM freshman placed in the Head of the Schuylkill regatta.

  • On the Field: Congratulations to varsity soccer players Dallen M., Grant K., and Austin M. on their selection to play in the Tri County League All Star Game Monday, November 7 at 3:00pm at Delaware Valley Friends.

And kudos to our Middle School Soccer team led by Coach Melchiore, Coach Flemming and Coach Tuppenay for a memorable 7-1-1 season including a thrilling come from behind tie against Coventry Christian 2-2 in the season finale. The team enjoyed a delicious pasta buffet lunch to celebrate yesterday.

  • On the Course: AIM junior golfer Casey O. made her repeat Player of the Year status official on Monday at the Philadelphia Junior PGA award ceremony. And last weekend junior Jared B. hit the links at a JGA Tour event placing 1st at Medford Lakes Country Club.

At the Tri-County League Cross Country Championship meet on Tuesday, AIM's Varsity Cross Country runners took home 2nd place overall out of a 10 team field! The AIM team had 3 top 10 finishes in the boys division and 2 top 10 finishes in the girls division.

  • On the River: The warm weather last weekend likely made AIM freshman Sean W.'s Head of the Schuylkill race a little more comfortable. Sean, who rows with the Fairmount Rowing Association, placed 3rd in the freshman singles race at the Head of the Schuylkill regatta last weekend.
