Join fellow parents and teachers as we read author and meditation teacher Oren Sofer’s new book: “Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Non-violent Communication.” The book will be released on December 11th on Amazon.
Spend Winter Break enjoying the book and then join us on Saturday, January 5th from 12 - 2 pm in the Training Room as Middle School Teachers Vien Nguyen and Kathy Brandon facilitate a conversation with faculty and parents about the book.
For interested participants, Sofer will offer a special one-time, full-day workshop and book-signing in Philadelphia at the Unitarian Society of Germantown on Saturday, January 12th. Register here for 9:30 am - 5:00 pm workshop (cost $35).

“By the time we reach adulthood, most of us have learned to operate through such deeply engrained patterns of language and behavior that virtually all of our communication involves projection, assumption, and bias. No wonder we often feel so cut off and all alone! Mr. Sofer deftly weaves together his mindfulness practice and principles of Nonviolent Communication to help us learn how to find one another again.” - Sharon Salzberg, author of Real Happiness and Real Love.
