AIM Parents Committee
A True Community, A World of Opportunities
The APC is excited to plan and host in-person events at AIM this year and is looking for volunteers to serve as class and grade level parents as well as help with event planning. If you are interested, please complete the Volunteer Interest Form and APC President Rachael Berman will be in touch.
Dear AIM Families,
It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over and our children will be back at AIM in a few short weeks. The goal of the AIM Parents Committee (APC) this year is to bring families new and returning together. Throughout this year we will be holding many different events to do just that. As plans continue to be made, we are in need of several volunteer positions to still be filled. If you have not already filled out our volunteer interest form please take a minute and do that.
I look forward to working with you this year. Please don't hesitate to reach out at apc@aimpa.org should you have any questions.

APC 2021-2022 Events

Fall Fest - Saturday, October 16
Trunk or Treat - Friday, October 29
Spring Book Fair - Friday, February 4 - Wednesday, February 9 - Volunteer to Set Up/Break Down or Work the Fair

FAMILY GAME NIGHT (May 20)
This event was a huge hit last year and we are hoping to be able to do it again this year. Families can try out dozens of new games, eat pizza and snacks, and each family gets to take their favorite game home at the end of the night.
EXAM BREAKFASTS (Winter and Spring)
Another wonderful tradition at AIM occurs during midterm and final exam weeks. Breakfast is served to the Middle School and Upper School students before they take their exams. Volunteers are needed to donate, collect and serve food during these breakfasts.
GRANDFRIENDS DAY (TBD)
In the past, Grandfriends Day has been a special afternoon or morning where Lower School and Middle School grandparents or special friends come and enjoy that time with their AIM student, touring the different classrooms and learning about what happens during a school day. With health and safety in mind, we will be looking to put together a committee to help plan activities that can be done over zoom this year.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR (February 7 & 8)
The APC hosts a book fair to celebrate reading. Volunteers are needed to set up and break down the book fair, assist children with book selections during the day, replenish items on the shelves, and to operate cash registers.
TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION (Ongoing)
Teacher and staff appreciation activities are planned for our devoted AIM teachers and staff throughout the school year including a spring luncheon. This volunteer committee coordinates collection of food, decorations, and favors for the teachers. Organizers help set up and clean up as needed.
AIM FOR THE STARS GALA (May 11)
This lovely evening organized by the Development Office and a large group of volunteers is the largest fundraiser of the year. Volunteers are need for a range of tasks including selling sponsorships, acquiring auction items, decorating, logistics, registration, menu planning and more.
SCHOOL LEVEL PARENT REPRESENTATIVES
The School level parent representatives are information ambassadors. The role of the representatives and volunteers are to serve as communication liaisons between the APC Chairs, or school faculty /administration and the grade level parent representatives.
GRADE LEVEL PARENT REPRESENTATIVES
The grade level volunteers keep the grade’s parents informed on upcoming events and issues pertaining to their grade. They will organize things such as teacher gifts, and food for class parties. They will reach out to parents and disseminate any information that HSA or administration needs to get to the parents.
