This October, AIM proudly celebrates Dyslexia Awareness Month and our 20th anniversary. It’s a milestone that honors two decades of empowering students, supporting families, and advancing literacy nationwide.
AIM began with a deeply personal vision. When founders Pat Roberts and Nancy Blair saw their own daughters struggle with dyslexia, they imagined a place where students with language-based learning differences could thrive with a commitment to research to practice, innovative teaching, and community. From that vision, AIM was born, and over the past 20 years, it has grown into a nationally recognized hub for student success, educator training, and groundbreaking research.
Visit AIM This October
Choosing the right school makes all the difference. At AIM Academy, families discover a vibrant, college-prep learning community where students with language-based learning differences in grades 1–12 gain the skills, strategies, and confidence they need to thrive.
We invite you to visit AIM during Dyslexia Awareness Month by attending one of our in-person Open House events. You’ll see learning come alive on our campus, meet our dedicated faculty and staff, and see how our programs, supports, and community create a place where students don’t just learn — they belong.

Showing Our AIM Pride
This month, AIM families, alumni, and staff are “planting’ over 100 Proud AIM yard signs across our campus and our neighborhoods! These signs are more than decorations — they are powerful symbols of community, resilience, and pride in AIM’s mission and our students outcomes.
We want to see your AIM pride! Share a photo of your sign with us — at your home, school, or office — and help us build a gallery of AIM spirit. Together, we are raising awareness, honoring AIM’s legacy, and inspiring future generations.
I feel proud every time my daughter picks up a book to read.
3rd Grade Parent
I feel truly blessed to teach at a school that not only recognizes, but also embraces learning differences.
Middle School Teacher
[My son] graduated from AIM and I always felt proud of him and the school, but him getting into his first choice college was an amazing moment!
Alumni Parent '20
We will always be grateful to AIM for giving her the tools and confidence she needed to believe in herself. To the parents walking this journey now—hold on. The future you’re dreaming of for your child really is possible!!!
