Dyslexia Awareness Month

Dyslexia Awareness Month

October is National Dyslexia Awareness Month and LD Awareness Month!

For 16 years, AIM Academy's mission has been to "provide extraordinary educational opportunities to children with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia utilizing research-based intervention strategies and an arts-based learning environment that is college preparatory in scope and sequence."

Every October as the nation celebrates Dyslexia Awareness Month and LD Awareness Month we take pride in recognizing our fearless learners and innovative teachers and to help educate others about learning differences.

Read Aloud Tips

In 2019, during Dyslexia Awareness Month we created a video with former AIM Teacher and AIM Institute Instructional Developer Julia Salamone featuring great tips for reading aloud to children.

This reading of seasonally appropriate Creepy Carrots can be a great tool for parents wondering how best to read to their children. We hope you enjoy it.
